Fox Boss on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Revival

JERUSALEM — With reboots and revivals dominating the television landscape, it’s only natural that studios are scouring their archives for the titles worth dusting off. So it comes as little surprise that Fox has looked at bringing back cult favorite “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

“I think if you look in our library, ‘Buffy’ is probably the most ripe show we have for bringing back,” said Fox TV group chair Gary Newman at the INTV Conference in Jerusalem. But he acknowledged that he “wouldn’t get out of the building alive” if he actually announced it.

“It’s something we talk about frequently, and Joss Whedon is really one of the greatest creators we ever worked with,” he said. “When Joss decides it’s time, we’ll do it. And until Joss decides it’s time, it won’t happen.”

Foodstirs Launches at Starbucks

Foodstirs is going a step further in its relationship with the coffee chain. This week, the brand launched a new line of single-serve “mug cake” mixes on its website and on Amazon in chocolate, confetti and cinnamon coffee cake. The line is certified organic and is made with biodynamic and “identity preserved” ingredients.

Starbucks, however, will be the first brick and mortar retailer for the line. Sold as a single serve confetti cake mix, the mixes will debut in approximately 8,000 Starbucks shelves in April.

“A variety of retailers recognize the consumer demand for clean, single serve indulgence that is easy, portable and delicious,” Galit Laibow, co-founder and CEO of Foodstirs, told NOSH.

Inc Interview: December 5th, 2017

For Sarah Michelle Gellar, the days of Mrs. Fields cookies and Famous Amos are long gone–and so are the hour-long episodes of vampire-slaying action.

These days, the actress is taking on some of the giants in the $5 billion baking industry with Foodstirs, her Los Angeles-based brand of organic, non-GMO baking mixes. With the help of co-founders Galit Laibow and Greg Fleishman, the mission is to create and sell kits that are also simple enough to make with kids–Instagram-worthy cookies in six steps or less.

The idea originated one day after Gellar and Laibow made a quick run to a local grocery store. The two friends were prepping for a night of baking with their daughters, but couldn’t find anything that met their nutritional standards. “We were so shocked by the offerings,” Gellar recalls. “It still felt very old-fashioned. When you’re looking at the ingredients and the second on the list is salt, you know something is off.”
